Having some fun

Life has been a bit stressful lately. Bree has missed quite a few days at school, due to her potty issues. And even the days she went last week, I ended up at the school, once if not twice everyday to help her out. It has not been pleasant. But we're making it through. In this regard, I am glad that summer break is only a short 6 weeks away! It can't come fast enough.

We've been working on some finances and we're trying to improve our situation. I mean who isn't right? But we have put ourselves on a very tight budget, and sometimes, it's not always fun. Knowing you can't splurge, or even go on vacation can sometimes get me down! I mean, it's summer, and I could SURE use a vacation right about NOW!!! But, we're foregoing the little things, in hopes of some bigger things later on. I'm trying to stay positive, but I am not always happy about it.

I am 12 weeks, and 3 days along in my pregnancy. So, I guess I am starting my 2nd trimester :) I see the Dr. in 4 weeks, and at that time, we get to make the appointment where we find out if we're having a boy or a girl. Hmmm, who wants to make a guess? I'm thinking at least a 98% chance for another girl. And maybe a 2% chance it's a boy. But as long as we have a healthy baby, we really don't care what we get! And on that front. I do have to admit, that this has been my BEST pregnancy ever. I was very sick with the first two, and I haven't even thrown up in this one! I think someone upstairs knew I would need this one to go well. With all of the things I have had to do for Bree lately, and running back and forth to her school, and just feeling down about a few things in life right now, it's just a good thing I am not bed ridden this time. Now, things are not perfect. I still feel a little yucky, and my nose can smell everything!!! And my nose does not like a lot of things. But overall I can't complain too darn much.

Well, this weekend, for both Chris and my sanity, we threw caution to the wind. We had some FUN!!! Even though we spent a little money doing it. And it was much needed Fun too! On Friday, I cooked a roast in the crockpot. Made real mashed potatoes and gravy! It was so yummy, and so were the leftovers :)

Then on Saturday, we took the girls to the Zoo! This was seriously my favorite Zoo visit ever! Due to many things I'm sure.... the fact that we just really needed a day out to play, or the fact that we didn't have to take a stroller, or diaper bag, and the girls just loved everything about the day, and the animals were all cooperating! All in all, this was seriously my most favorite Zoo visit ever!

Sunday afternoon, we took the girls to the park with a picnic. And when we got home, we got out their little sprinkler, and let them get wet! They loved that too. Bree said it was the best weekend ever. I know the girls had a lot of fun this weekend, and so did Chris and I.

Sometimes you just have to PLAY! :) Sometimes, you just have to have FUN!

Easter Weekend

A post full of Pictures!

This past week was Spring Break for Bree. No school the whole week leading up to Easter Weekend. My girls got sick right at the start of the break. Elle was practically on her death bed for a couple of days. But we are finally pulling out of it. In the previous post, I mentioned a couple of the fun activities that we did with my sister during the week.

Here are some pictures I took around my yard this week. Spring is coming to our little neck of the woods. It's getting warmer out, and things are starting to get beautiful again. My favorite time of year in our backyard is summer! All of the trees are full with leaves, there is shade, privacy, and it's just our own little Garden of Eden! In the summer time we spend hours upon hours out in the backyard. Sitting the the hammock, swinging, playing, BBQing, etc.. etc... I can't wait! :)

Friday night, we colored our Easter Eggs. I guess it's a good thing we did, because the Easter Bunny came a day early on Saturday! Bree was very surprised. She mentioned several times, that Easter wasn't till the next day. She came up with all kinds of theories as to why the bunny would come early. Pretty much Daddy decided that it was so the girls would have the whole day Saturday to play outside with their new Easter Digs :)

And this is what the Bunny brought....

New Sidewalk Chalk, a little golf set, a few toys, chocolate, and lots of bubbles. Fun little spring toys that the girls can have fun with!

Saturday was also our day to get some things done around the house. Laundry, baking, dishes, etc.. We moved a lot of things around outside too! We put the Snowmobiles away in the shed, and brought out the 4 wheelers to put in the trailer. We also moved our RV out into the driveway from the backyard. Spring is here, and we are ready to play!

The girls enjoyed some riding around in the backyard.

Then yesterday, "Easter", we spent the afternoon over at my parents for an awesome BBQ, and a little Easter Egg hunt. The girls got to play with cousins, and there was a ton of amazing food. It's always nice to spend time with family!! It was a great day. One of my brother's is on vacation, and I know they were missed!

Dad working the Grill :)

Mom and the kids, getting ready to find some Eggs :)

I think out of all the kids, Elle was the most excited!!

It's been a fun and challenging week! I'm glad the weather is getting warmer, and Summer is on it's way. There are actually only 8 weeks left and then school is out for the summer! I can't believe it. I'm now 10 weeks pregnant. And sometimes I can't believe that either! Life is getting interesting around here, that's for sure.

Happy Easter to ALL.

Spring Break

It's been Spring Break all week. But we haven't done too much, because the girls have been sick. But, today we spent the day with my sister and her kids. It was a fun day! My girls totally enjoyed themselves.

First, we went to the Kennecott Copper Mine. We watched an awesome video and looked through the visitor center. We got to look down into the mine and watch the huge trucks at work. We also did a little bit of shopping in the souvenir shop. Bree said that this was her favorite part of the day.

After the copper mine, we went to lunch at Olive Garden! One of my favorite places. It was heavenly :)

And finally, we ended up at Mrs. Cavanaugh's Chocolate Factory. There we had a tour of the factory, and some free samples of the amazing chocolate. Then of course, we bought a little more chocolate to bring home :)

I'm glad my sister came up with such fun activities for us to do over spring break! We really had a great time!
