Hats!!

Crochet

I learned a little bit from my grandma Perkins.
I should have learned more while she was here.  She was really good at it!
In fact, she made everything crochet.
She left me an entire bedspread made out of tiny crochet!  Amazing!!

Well, I saw a cute crochet hat, found a pattern, watched some tutorials, and I fell in LOVE with crocheting hats!
I loved it, because I could finish one in about a day and a half!
I love a project that doesn't take too long.

I didn't realize how many hats I had made in a short period of time, until I gathered up all the pictures.  I've given a lot them away, but still have some too.

I even made my brother a hat with a beard! :)

My first Hat was this cute hat made with 3 colors of yarn and looks like Plaid!

I'm not sure I would have been able to make these from the patterns alone.
Thank goodness, the girl who created these first two patterns, also made some video tutorials that I was able to watch on Youtube!

It was really fun to mix and match yarn, and get different looks!

With my girls hats, I actually took what I had learned, and just made up the patterns myself.
It was fun to see what would happen, and how they would turn out!

Then I found some other patterns, like this heart one!
So I made a couple for Valentines Day.
I actually gave these away to Bree's dance teachers!

And then it got really fun!!
I found some cute school hats, online, and kind of tried to make up my own
pattern for a crocheted version.
They turned out so good!!  I really love them!

I guess you could say that the possibilities are endless!
And SO, MUCH, FUN!!!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

I remember being single, and actually going out, or to a party for New Year's Eve.
Now that I have a little family, we try and make it fun for the girls.

Last year, we were at my Aunt and Uncles Cabin, but this year, like most years,
we were home.  I like having everyone at home, safe and sound.

We make a lot of great food and snacks, get a puzzle, watch some movies, and then we watch the ball Drop at Midnight on T.V.

And when everyone is home for the holiday, and we have No school, or work, we get to play outside in the backyard together.

Chris pulls out the Snowmobile, and we stay out until after dark, sledding in the backyard!
I love that my girls like being outdoors as much as I do!!

We had left one of the sleds outside, and it filled with snow and rain, and we ended up with this sled made of Ice!

Tubing

TUBING
This year the kids and Chris got some new Snow Tubes for Christmas.
And Elle got a new sled for her Birthday early in December, so we decided to hit a hill by our house, that's popular for tubing.

It was a total blast!
And we had a few people ask about our tubes, because they went faster and farther than the other sleds.

I also got new thermals, and snow pants from Mom and Dad for Christmas this year!
They were much needed, and so awesome!!

We live in such a beautiful place!
I don't think I could live without all 4 seasons!!
We love to do stuff outside.

It's a pretty big hill for Ruby, and her little legs get tired, so Chris found an easy way to push her back up to the top of the hill.
