Well, what can I say about today? Hmm, it wasn't what I had pictured in my mind. Most of my posts are cheery, but I've got to tell it like it is!
I took the girls to the Mall. We were going to have a fun Lunch, Sit on Santa's lap, and Ride the Merry Go Round. Then I thought I might hit a couple of stores. Just a relaxed day with the girls. Oh yeah right?!
From minute one, Elle didn't want to get in the car. She cried. No, Screamed! Then we get to the Mall, and I decide to see Santa first. I wanted a picture, and thought I would do it while the girls were fresh. Well, neither one would even get near him. And the picture isn't the best. But at least it shows that we saw Santa anyway. Bree did take a little Book and Candy Cane from him.
After that, we went to ride the Mary go Round. Elle screamed again. She wasn't going to sit on one of those ponies! So I stood there and held her on the ride and Bree had a great time. Afterward, we went for some lunch. Elle was all over the place. Up and down, up and down, sitting on the floor and crying etc... What? This is supposed to be fun!! After lunch, we went back to Ride the Mary go Round again. Bree rode it 3 more times :) That was the highlight of our whole day!
I thought I would walk into a couple of stores before we left the mall. But every time I even got half way into a store, Elle would start screaming at the top of her lungs. She was not going to let me shop in any way shape or form. Well, I could joke, and say that Chris set this up, so that I wouldn't spend any money :) he..he.. A positive outlook. I guess you win some and loose some. And even though we were supposed to have a fun day out, I think I lost some today.

Bummer. Some days are just like that!! "Merry" Christmas right?
sounds like a deep breath day
Bummer, but your picture looks just fine, regardless. Happens to all of us more than we want. You did awesome just taking it in stride.
Ha Ha, I'm sorry but this made ma laugh. Probably because it sounds all too familiar. I guess you can't have perfect kids ALL the time, right?
This made me feel better. I totally have days like this. No fun! And I'm totally with you--the purpose of a picture with Santa is just to prove you saw him--we've never had one without a screaming child in it. No Santa picture Christmas cards for my kids!
I'm with Katie, days like this aren't that rare for me unfortunately. I, yes I, have to be feeling great before I plan something big like this. Honestly, I had no idea that you ever had days like this! :)
I have to say that this made me laugh. Only because I feel your pain!!! This is something that I go thru way too often. Kids will be kids. Your pictures looks way cute!
Ok, first off, I have to ask what the heck is that Santa wearing? Very weird.
We went to see Santa the other night and had to wait forever because we got there right at his break. I get happy meals and that kept them happy for about 20 min, then Landon was impossible!! Imagine Elle times 2 and that is what I have with my boys sometimes. We all have those days! Just have to keep trying:)
That is a great adventure!!! The best part is the picture that you did end up getting anyway! You are a great mom!
