Rollerskates?

This summer Bree and Elle got some Rollerskates for Bree's Birthday. Needless to say, this is the first time they put them on. They are so slick, and the girls have a hard time. They have been skating on the carpet, because the minute Bree hit the tile in our house, she fell and hurt her behind. She told me that she was afraid she might not be able to go to school, because her bumb was so sore.

I was a Roller Queen back in Jr. High and High school. In fact, I still have my Roller Skates. I am pretty darn good. I can probably skate just as well backwards, as forward. I remember roller skating all around the neighborhood. I had a summer pass one summer, and my best friend and I spent an entire summer, everyday at Classic Skating Rink. Later on, another friend and I would go skating every Saturday night. I know....total 80's right? Right! When Chris and I were first married, my little sister, who wasn't so little, had her birthday party at Classic, and Chris was stunned when he saw me skate. It was pretty funny!

I DO however remember falling a few times. Once in our basement, where I would skate a lot. Hurting my knees pretty good. And one Winter, I had Mom and Dad move the cars out from under the carport, and I skated for hours on a cold winter day. Snow on the ground. That's when I actually got frostbite on my finger, because I didn't wear any gloves. Oh, those were the days....memories....

I want my girls to learn to skate, but I hate it when they get hurt. Do you think I could just wrap their entire bodies in Bubble Wrap? That works for me!!! I guess we all have to fall down, and just pick ourselves back up, and keep on learning :) Anyway, here are some pics of the girls in their skates. They didn't want to take them off. But Mom is going to have to help them a lot for a while. Man, this is a dangerous sport :) ha..ha..ha..

So Cute! I was an avid roller blader back in the day too! Sadly, I haven't worn a pair since before my mission...sigh. I just have to tell you again, your girls are so dang cute!

Brighton,
Didn't know you had such talent! Love it. I'm sure they will take after their mom. :)

How cute is that? I know what you mean about them getting hurt. It is so hard to watch them suffer. :( I am sure they will have a blast learning how to skate. It must be a Belnap thing, because Cord is an amazing skater too! I was dying when I saw how good he could skate. He as to go backwards down hills and hold my hands to help me get down them. :)
