A Funeral

Didn't we just do something like this? Back in Sept. my grandma passed away. I thought that was tough! And Saturday, Chris' sister Lisa passed away. It's been a hard week. Yesterday was the funeral. It was awesome, as far as funerals go. But, I vote, that we take a break for a while.

When Chris found out that his sister had passed, he immediately had some thoughts come to him. We made bread and took it to his brother in law, and Chris volunteered to speak at the funeral. When he went in to deliver the bread, Myron and the kids were just sitting down to talk about the funeral. And when Chris told them he would speak, they were overjoyed, because the said that they had thought of Chris and his sister Julie to speak. It really was meant to be. Later that night, Chris came home and started writing. He wrote the most amazing poem I've ever heard. See, Chris' mom has a few books of poetry that are published. But Chris assures me, that this will not happen again :) He won't be writing any more poems anytime soon.

Yesterday was a good day. I'm kind of glad it's all over. What a stressful time. But I'm so proud of my husband. He really is quite funny. Making everyone laugh over and over with his stories and his talk. Everyone was mesmerized! So many people came and told him how wonderful it was at the dinner afterward.

I took this picture of Lois and her 10 children, on a family Campout 2 summers ago. It was my idea. We really only had everyone there for a few hours on one day. People were coming and going on that trip. Chris' family aren't really into pictures, but even though a couple of them didn't really want to be in it, they did it for me anyway. I just felt like it was important. And I had a hard time keeping my composure while taking it. I knew someday it would be a treasure, and that day has come all too quickly. I'm just glad, they all love me enough, to do this for me!

P.S. Lisa is the one standing right in front of Chris. We are really going to miss her a ton!! Until we meet again :)
