Jorgensen Family Campout 2016

I haven't blogged for months!  I have decided that there is just no way to catch up, so I'll just start blogging again starting now.  Our internet speed was so slow, that it would take a day just to load pictures.  Seriously!  Hours were wasted, and that is why I quit.
Ah, but alas.... we just got new, super fast internet speed, and I almost fell off my chair, when all of my tons of pictures uploaded here, in about 10 seconds!  LITERALLY!  So happy :)

Anyway, we went to the same place this year, as we did last.  I guess it's a really fun place.
Ephraim Canyon.
I do have to say, that we went on some new 4 wheeler rides, and explored places, that we didn't last summer when we were here, and the scenery is beyond amazing!!

The first afternoon we got here, we set up camp, and went for a ride :)
I stuck my camera on the hill beside us, set the timer, and made a run for it.
And that is our first picture.

The first night, we had the most amazing sunset!  It lasted for so long, and kept changing every time I looked at it.  If I remember right, last year when we camped here, the same thing happened.  An amazing sunset on the very first night of the trip.

Everyday, we took at least one amazing, long ride.
We found lakes, went through water, beautiful wild flowers, Aspens, etc...

Camp life....
Sittin' around, talking, snacking, laughing, telling stories, etc...

It rained a couple of times, for a little while, and while it rained, we played some games of Apples to Apples in the trailer.  I also showed the girls how to play Yahtzee.  And once, instead of throwing the dice back into the cup we were rolling them out of, I threw them in my water cup instead.
It gave the girls a good laugh!

The treasure hunt was different this year.
The kids had to follow this list, and collect everything on it.
Basically, they cleaned up garbage in the camp for a small prize.
A win for camp, and a win for them!

Chris found a ratty old soccer ball that someone had left behind.  Looked like a dog had chewed it up, but Ruby had fun playing soccer in camp.

And some of the riding I told you about.

Cousin friends.
Although we were missing a whole lot of cousins, the ones that were here, all got along so well, and played from morning until night!  Even well after dark, while the adults sat at the campfire, the kids ran around camp with flashlights, playing night games.

On this ride, we went all the way up Ephraim Canyon, to Skyline Drive.
Skyline goes for miles and miles in both directions, North & South!  All through Utah.
It's amazing.  High Altitude.
The night we took this ride, it was evening(ish), and we only had small jackets.
We actually froze on the way back!
We went to a Lake called Snow Lake.  And there was still snow around.  Even in August.

Grandma's coloring contest is always one of the Favorite things on the campout!
The kids spend a lot of time on their paintings, and drawings.
After all, there are prizes you know.

The Saturday Potluck!

Games, and Tug of War...

And everyday, more cousin fun!

Daddy let the girls drive around camp and close by, all by themselves!
They were in seventh heaven.

The trip went so well... that is, until we headed home.
We managed to blow out a tire.  And then another tire..  leaving us stranded on the freeway, 2 different times, for over 6 hours total.
Thank goodness for snacks, and a DVD player in the truck!
It was scary, and not so pleasant, but thank goodness, for family, and that we were able to get our trailer home, and not have to leave it on the side of the road.

Needless to say, we now have 4 new tires, and TWO spare tires on the trailer! :)
All in all, it was a fabulous time.

Skating...

The girls and I started skating once a week again...
That is, until St. Patties Day.
I was messing around and didn't really fall, but kind of ended up on the ground.
I was just fine, until my girls told me that all my fat had bounced!
Bounced?  Well, that's great for the ego.
We haven't been back since.
Mostly because I've really been training for the Ogden Half Marathon, and need to stay healthy, and in tip top shape.  But partly, because even though, the girls didn't mean to hurt my feelings, and even though I have good self esteem, it still hurt a little knowing that who ever might have seen me fall, were probably laughing, and thinking the very same thing.
And also, that I hadn't fallen on skates for like 25 years!!!  And I consider myself kind of a Pro.
But, in my defense....c'mon, they ARE shoes with very slick wheels on the bottom of them.

Yes.   After the Marathon this weekend, I WILL take my girls skating again.
I don't really care what anyone else thinks!
As long as my girls think I'm cool.  And as long as we are having fun together.
That's all that really matters. :)

Valentines 2016

This year, we shared our Valentines Day with the whole family!
Chris bought me the prettiest Roses, and then we went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner.
Afterward, we spent a little time playing at the Mall.
I think the girls had a fabulous time!
I love my little family :)

East Canyon winter trip 2016

We've been taking a Winter Trip to East Canyon for the past few years.
I'm just going to post a few pictures to highlight the trip.
I am still trying catch up on my blog.
So I'll make this post Brief!

I had to go without Chris, because he just didn't want to go.
I was kind of bummed about it to begin with, because I always have way more fun when he's around, but decided I would take the girls by myself, so we didn't just sit home.
On the last night, Elle got sick and threw up.  She was in the Condo alone mostly the whole day.
No one wanted to come over, because no one else wanted to get sick.
So we were basically quarantined, and I felt even more alone, and had a sick kid, who I had no medicine for.  So I decided to pack up and go home that night, because I wanted help with Elle.
That was kind of the last lonely straw for me.

But the trip was really mostly a lot of fun.
I played a million games of hang man with my siblings, ate yummy food, and we played in the snow, and did a lot of sledding most of the time.
It was a pretty good trip overall.
Just missed my best friend :)

Midway Ice Castles

Still trying to get caught up on the blog.....

We went to the Midway Ice Castles again this year.
It just so happened, that I was telling Chris that I really wanted to go.  So we planned the trip kind of last minute, instead of planning ahead, but I'm so glad we did.
The day we went, it was so extremely cold, but the girls didn't seem to mind once we got playing in the Ice.  But about a week or two after we went, the weather turned warm, and they were going to have to close the Ice Castles a bit early for the season.  Go figure!
You just never know what will transpire, so I guess you need to do the things you want to, when you're thinking about it, because you just never know.

Before we went to the Ice Castles, we stopped for dinner at the Dairy Keen
(Train Burger) in Heber.
Chris and his nephews used to stop and eat the amazing soup here, when they would go
snowmobiling on a regular basis!  Mmmmm, good :)

One of my favorite pictures.
I took a LOT, but am only going to post a few here.

We've been to the Ice Castles in the past.  This year, something new that the girls LOVED were the two new Ice Slides.  A little one, for the little kids, and then a long windy one for everyone else.
The girls went on the slides, over and over and over!  I had to beg them to leave.
They were a total hit for sure.  I hope they keep making the slides!

I'm not going to say too much, maybe because I'm feeling a bit lazy today, but the Ice Castles are always super fun!  We stayed longer than I think most people would.  For hours.  Partly, because of the slides, but partly, because you really can just walk through them over and over, with the colors in the Ice changing, and it's just so beautiful.  And our family loves to do anything out doors.
Until next year?
