Making Dresses

A while back I made a dress for Bree. I had the fabric for Elle's dress, but summer kind of happened. Now that Bree is in school all day long, I need projects to keep me from thinking about how long the days are without her :) So, I whipped up another dress today. It went so much faster this time! I Love them. Can't wait for the girls to wear these....

Expedition Impossible!

I don't know how many of you watched this show, but I was totally into it!

I think they started with 12 teams. Football Players, Police Officers, Gypsies, California Girls, No Limits, and many more. They had to repel, swim, hike, traverse, kayak, and so many other things, all over Morocco, while doing challenges, etc.. Those things were so fun to watch, but I was so inspired by my favorite team!!
Team "No Limits"! Eric is blind, and Ike ended up wearing a cast on his foot for 2 legs of the race. And every time I thought they were going to get cut, they kept on going! Amazing!! They never gave up. Kept such a positive attitude and ultimately ended up taking 2nd place overall. These guys are so awesome!
I'm seriously going to miss watching them each week! I think these guys taught a whole lot of people some valuable lessons. Live life like there are "No Limits", and "Never give up"!

Bree's first day of 1st Grade :)

A new school year started yesterday! I can't believe it's here already. I am so NOT ready for summer to be over yet. I Love the sun. I love sitting in the hammock, in the backyard, until 9pm when the sun goes down. Swimming, camping, and long walks around the neighborhood.

But the first day of school came, weather I wanted it to or not. And Bree is entering the 1st grade this year. Bree absolutely LOVES school. I cannot stress this fact enough. She has been talking about it for weeks. Counting down the days. In fact, we were camping until the day before, and each day she would wake up and say, 3 days till school mom. 2 days....1 day.

Our truck battery died the day before school. This is the first year that Bree is going to ride the bus. I am an overly protective parent. I'll admit it. My plan, was to follow her bus to school and watch her walk in. I mean, then I would know that she had made it there safe. Well, since I didn't have a car yesterday, I had to trust that my little tiny girl, would do everything right. We talked about strangers, and that she should just go straight into school, and then straight to the bus afterwards. So yesterday, Elle and I stood on the curb, waiting for her bus to return our sweet Bree to us. And it did! Oh, I think that was one of the hardest things I've done. To let go just a little. I LOVE my daughter more than anything!!! I cried a few times while we were getting ready for this year. I wish she wouldn't grow up :) But, she keeps telling me, that she has to.

I'm just glad that school excites her. She absolutely loves it. She doesn't want to miss out on any of it. That right there, made it easier for me to let her go. And she actually has her very best friend from church to ride the bus with! How amazing is that?

We LOVE you Bree!! And we are so proud of you :)

Carter Creek

This past weekend, we spent time with my family in the Uinta's. We stayed at a place called Carter Creek. It's a camp owned by Hill Air Force Base. Both my mom and brother work on base, so they are eligible to stay at the camp. There are cabins for rent, trailers for rent, or you can bring your own trailer or tent. Some of us stayed in cabins, and my parents and Chris and I brought our trailers. My whole family was there! We had an amazing time riding 4 wheelers, taking nature walks, having campfires, laying around in our own hammock heaven, huge potluck dinners, and so much more. These are some of my favorite pictures. I think they speak for themselves :)

It was a really fun way, to end the summer!! I LOVE the great outdoors :)

Our weekend

I Love my little family so very much! Last night as I went to bed, I snuck into the girls rooms and kissed them, and tucked them into their covers again. They are so sweet!! It has been such a fun summer. We haven't been on any major trips, just the usual few camping trips this summer, but we've had such a good time playing in our own backyard.

One evening, I pushed the girls in the swings. A simple, fun, summer activity...

On Friday, Chris left work early, and we took the girls back to the Splash Pad. They LOVE it, and it doesn't cost anything. Just another way to spend some family time...

And Saturday, was a really hot day. So we got out the pool once more. I even decided to join in the fun. I'm amazed at how big their new little pool really is. Chris waded and got his feet wet, while the girls and I swam. We spent a few hours in the backyard with the girls. Just having fun, and being a close family. I really loved it!!! Something I will cherish...

This weekend was fun, and relaxing, and our family spent some quality time together :)

Summer fun with cousins

The last couple of weeks, have been a lot of fun! We have played with lots of cousins :) Last week, we made a trip to the Dinosaur Park. It was HOT! We spent our time going from shade spot, to shade spot. Eating snacks, swinging, and digging for bones. And I think the kids had a lot of fun!

These are the cutest Dangerous Creatures I've ever seen!
Elle, Natalie, Kayla, Bree, and Libby.

And the handsome, ever climbing, Gage!

Yesterday, my brother invited us for a Day at the Beach! The kids LOVED it!! None of them wanted to leave. Although I knew they were tired, and hungary, they would have stayed forever!!

Elle, Bree, Kayla, Nicholas, and Miranda.

We Love playing with cousins. And this summer, we've gotten to do it a lot :) I can't believe the summer is almost over! Where has the time gone? I am not ready for these long, warm, summer days to end. I LOVE being outside :)
