Ruby turns 2! and the Huntsville 10K

Yesterday was quite exciting!
It was my baby's Birthday.  Yes, Ruby turned 2!
And most of the family were running, or walking in the Huntsville 10K!
Some of my pictures are a little bit out of order, but you get the idea :)

My Birthday Girl!

We've had this 10K on the books for a long long time.  I trained and was so ready for the Ogden Half Marathon, but lately, life has gotten in the way, and I was totally NOT ready.  But I actually pulled off quite a fast time for me, considering, I haven't been exercising.

Yes, I was left in the dust.  I was the very last person in the 10K to cross the finish line, but I made it.
Thanks to my sister in laws, brother and sister for walking with me the whole way.  It was nice that I wasn't all alone.  I think I have some serious work to do.  It's an on going battle.  But I'll get there.

It rained... actually poured almost the whole entire time, with very small breaks.
But I'm so glad that so many of us were there together!  And my sister in law Adelle's family had a huge showing as well.  After the 10K, we all had lunch and celebrated Ruby's birthday together.  I had a great time.  I love spending time with family.  And it was nice to get out in the fall weather also.  All of the leaves are changing, and the route went along the shores of Pineview.  It was awesome!!

Doug, Mom, and Dax all placed in their races.  Doug came in 1st in his age group for the 10K, Mom came in 2nd for her age group for the 5K, and Dax came in 3rd in his age group for the 10K!

Some of the kids were signed up for the kids race, including my girls.
Well, most everyone got really wet racing, and some of the kids played in the rain and were soaked.  So everyone else went home to get warm and dry.  But Bree was serious about racing.  She didn't want to go home.  We'd been talking about it for weeks, and she was going to participate!  So we stuck around.  Bree and Elle ran the kids race.  It was short, but they were proud of themselves.  They got to cross the finish line that all of the adult racers crossed.  They were handed creamies, water, and Sunny D!  They even got Tshirts.
They were so happy.  I'm glad we stayed and let them race!

See.... I told you these were out of order :)

Camber!

Look who is TWO!

After the race, it was time to picnic, and have a Birthday Party!

Ruby and her Cake

My sister in law Adelle, is amazing.  She made the cutest cake for Ruby.  And I'm here to tell you that as cute as it is, it tastes even better! :)

A trip to the Mountains, & Team Soccer Pics

Last weekend after Soccer games, we packed up the truck, a picnic, and drove up to the Uinta's Soapstone area where some of Chris' family were camped.  We only spent the day, and evening, but the girls had an amazing time.  I love Utah in the Fall.  The leaves are starting to change and the air is crisp.  In fact, on our way home that night, it was only 47degrees.
I had a chance to play with my camera, which is one of my favorite things to do, the girls played croquet with Grandma Bump Bump, and Cousin Roy, and Uncle Mark.
We found Eeyore's home.
Played hide n seek, and talked around the campfire.
My girls love camping, and I'm pretty sure, we were all wishing, that we had had our trailer, so that we could have spent the night.
It was my mother in law's 85th Birthday, so the girls took her some cards they had made.
It was a really nice day :)

And today, a week later, we had more soccer games, and Team Pictures.  I ordered some pictures for the girls, but I also took a few of my own just for fun.
Love my little soccer stars :)

Remodel Update

A little while back, I talked about our home remodel.
We started working on it, at the beginning of the Summer, but then realized, that there wouldn't be enough time or money to do that, and all of our Camping trips at the same time, so we had to put the remodel on hold for a little while.
Now that school has started, etc... I am really excited to get it done.
Not to mention, that once the wood work is done, we can put the saw's and tables away, and Chris can start parking the Car in the garage again.  I want to get this done before it gets cold and snows.
There is no reason to scrape snow off of the car in the early morning hours, when we have a garage right?  And I can't even imagine decorating the house for the holidays, when it's torn apart.
Two reasons, that we need to get this thing done :)

Anyway,  Chris has been working on it this past week, and I love what is happening!!
We are almost done with the wood work.
The entry way, and dining room are getting the same treatment.  The dining room is complete, and the chair rail is up in the entry.  Now we just have to finish the boxes in the entry.
Then we'll be just about done and ready to start prep for painting!
A LOT of painting!

Both Columns that Chris built, and everything from the chair rails to the floor, and all of the trim around the doors and windows, will be white.
Everything else, will be a brown color called, Bread Basket.

More updates to come.  Or maybe just pics when we're done painting.
Then onto, accessorizing!  Curtains, Pillows, new Closet Doors, and I have some special projects, for the family room.

Here are the pics, of Chris' amazing work!

In this picture, do you see the wood on top of the front door?  Well, it was tiny, like above the closet, but we've put new wood up.  And we're going to do that above the two closets, the back deck doors, and over the doorway in the dining room too.  Chris has all of the pieces cut, and now just has to get them up.  I really like it.
After this, all of the wood is done, and we can prep for painting!!
