April Showers bring May Flowers

Finally took the girls to the Theatre to see 

Disney's new Beauty and the Beast!

We all loved it!!

Walking with my Favorite person!!

Ruby has our hearts!

She is the sweetest little thing.

Every time I look at her I am amazed by her.

Elle had been begging for a fidget spinner for the longest time.

Everyone has one, she said.

This was before you could get one in every store!

We found these Bat shaped ones at a 7-Eleven.

She was elated, and we brought one home for her sisters too!

Elle's friend Coco invited Elle to her Birthday Party!

She had so much fun with all of her school friends.

I am so glad that my girls have made great friends here.

I love to see them socialize.

Gymnastics Team Picture night.

We did Elle's hair, put some makeup on, 

and went to class.

They are practicing for their Gymnastics Olympics/Recital

St. Patricks Day

 A trip to the Park! 

My girls love the park.  

They love to visit different parks, to see what kind of new adventures they can have!

And when it's rainy and cold outside, 

we play with sand inside.

A family trip to the dentist!

A clean bill of health all around.  Yeah!

So this year, everyone went on Spring Break a week before us.

I was feeling pretty low, because everyone posts such great pictures of their trips, 

and we were at home.  Doing pretty much nothing.

So I took the girls to yet another Park..

And lunch at McDonalds

Homemade Chocolate chip muffins and scrambled eggs!

I've struggled to stay in shape. 

Lets just say I haven't done well lately.

But on this day, I was out getting some miles in.

One of our favorite eating out places lately...

Pizza Pie Cafe!

A buffet of all you can eat Salad Bar, Pizza, Pasta, Drinks, and Dessert Pizza!

Everyone loves to eat here, and we always get those amazing coupons from the school or in the mail, so that two of our kids meals are FREE!

Spring is on it's way!!!!

And while my sister's family was on a nice long amazing trip to D.C. to see the Cherry Blossoms, 

I was totally Jealous!!!!!.....  Somewhere I've always wanted to go....

The Cherry Tree in our backyard was had blossoms of it's own.

I guess this will have to do for now :) 

Dance Competition

Bree is dancing this year.  

She loves it!  And they love her.

She's a natural.

We started out in the beginning class, because she has only danced once when she was 4yrs.

But she quickly moved up.

This was their 1 competition for the year.  

I love how it's pretty low key. 

Super fun, and not too much for us to handle.

They danced to Pirates of the Carribean.

Aleigha dances with the same company, so she was there with her group also.

Granny B came to see both girls dance!

Back Stage...changing, stretching...practicing....getting ready to dance!

Thank goodness for my sister Jen!  

My camera was acting up, and I just couldn't do anything but take video.

So she took pictures for me too, or I probably wouldn't have any!

They did so good!  

I think everyone loved their dance.  

And we found out later, that they came in 2nd.

And afterward, we went out to dinner to celebrate.

We ate at Texas Roadhouse.

The girls had their own table.

They ordered their own food and got to enjoy each others company.

Bree's 6th Grade Dance!

Oh my heavens!

This is just one of the cutest things I've ever seen, and I have to tell all about it.

Bree's 6th Grade DANCE!

This year's theme was
"Under the Sea"

First off, the kids practiced all year for the dance.  

They were taught all kinds of dances.  The actual steps, and practiced 1 hour each week

the whole school year.

Then, they each had a dance card.  

Which they filled out ahead of time.  Each boy would sign a spot 

on one of the girls dance cards for each dance.

That way, everyone knew who their dance partner would be for each and every 

dance ahead of time.  

No one was sitting at this dance!  

Everyone danced on every song, and there was no need to worry about who you would

be dancing with!

It reminded me of the dances of my parents generation.

Then, the decorations!!! 

Oh my....

When we walked in, I couldn't believe what had been done.

They draped the walls in paper, and made a false ceiling, and had so many fun

things around the room that there was no end in sight!

It was so amazing!

Then,  they introduced each kid, as they entered the gym.  

They each walked through an arch, with lights, and their name was called.

They got to pause there, as their picture was taken.

It was so parent friendly too!  

They let us roam all through the dance, taking pictures of our kids.

The first half of each dance, the lights were on for pictures, and 

then they would turn the lights off, and have the disco ball going for the second half of each song!

It was the cutest!!!

And about half way through, the girls sat down, while their partner at the time

went and got them something to eat, and brought it back to them.

I was amazed at the food that was there.

Mini sandwiches, fresh fruit, all kinds of snacks, and bottled water!

All the kids were dressed up.

Dresses for the girls, and dress slacks and ties for the boys.  

The 6th grade dance is a big deal at East Layton.

And they really do it up right!

I was so impressed!!!

What a wonderful experience.
