Goblin Valley/Temple Mt. in October!

This year, we really pushed the envelope!

We were out camping in early Spring, (Zions, in March!)
and ended our camping season with a trip to (GoblinValley/Temple Mt. in October!)

I just LOVE camping on our trailer.  Taking it to fun places, where we can explore, camp, vacation, and come home to our own special place.  We can go to National Parks, Campgrounds, or just out in the woods, anywhere we want to go!

We hadn't been to Goblin Valley for about 6 or so years, since Elle was a baby.  I don't think she could walk.  So this was Ruby's first trip.  We stayed 6 days!  I thought it might be long, but we enjoyed it so much, that no one wanted to come home.  We all could have stayed!

Camp was awesome!  We pretty much stay at this same spot every time.  Ok, the three times that I've been!  It's our favorite.  Under this huge Rock wall.  This 1st picture doesn't do it justice, because I was way back, taking a Panoramic shot, but it's huge!!

The girls rode the 4 wheelers all over around our camp.  They love to drive on their own now!

Hiking and playing around Camp.

Our first trip to Goblin Valley....
We spent 2 days at Goblin.  The first and last days of our trip!
We hiked and hiked through the Goblins.  Stopping for Snacks and lunches.
I could have explored for weeks!
There are 3 different huge valleys, of which, we had only ever seen 1.
The last day, we happened to wonder into another huge Valley we hadn't seen yet!
It was super amazing.  Went on forever, and it would take way longer to explore, than the time we had.  Well, I guess we'll just have to go back again someday.

The girls had an amazing time just running through, and hiking on top of all the rocks, and formations!  They were in heaven.  And so was I.

One whole day, we rode the 4 wheelers on a loop around Temple Mt.
And then on other occasions, went for smaller rides.
It's fun to have the option for different activities.  And the girls all just love to ride!

However, I'm not sure that we'll ever do the loop again.  Maybe just an out and back to a point.
From the time we were there last, to now, the trails have been so washed out!
They've had some major weather down there, and a lot of water has made it's way through the area.
I was shocked at some of the changes in the Landscape!
I can see just how this earth was formed.
Mother Nature is a force to be reckoned with.

We saw some Fall colors on our trip, even though we were in the desert.
In the washes, you could find the trees, and they were bright yellow!
One of our amazing hikes, took us through a huge Wash, because that is how everything down there is made mostly anyway, and we found some really fun Trees!

Camp life is always fun!
We roasted hotdogs and smores over the fire.  Had picnics, climbed on rocks, rode 4 wheelers, and played with the sand toys, in the sand.
And Ruby told the BEST stories while sitting at the campfire late at night.
And when it was dark, we would go inside our cozy trailer, and watch movies, play games, and eat snacks!  Our little home sweet home!

We found a new hike, that we didn't even know about before.
I can't believe we didn't know about it the last 2 times we were down there.
It was the most amazing hike I'd been on in a long time!
"Little Wild Horse Canyon"
It's actually, an 8 mile loop, but you can choose to go in and back out the one side, and that is what we did.  We wanted to hike in the slots.
There is a point you get to, where there's water, so you have to decide weather you want to keep going, and get wet, or turn around.  We didn't get wet.
I'd talked to some people, and the water was up to their thighs in the high spots.  But the week before, it had been chest high.  So you take your chances.
But this is a hike I would recommend to Everyone!!
Two of Chris' nephews, surprised us, and showed up for a day, and did the hike with us.
Ruby hiked the whole thing in and out all by herself!  I think my estimation was 3 miles round trip for us.

Yes, we are headed into that crack behind us....

The farther we went, the better it got!  There were parts that were so swirly, that you couldn't really see the people a few feet ahead, because they were behind another turn!
Unbelievable!!  And so very Awesome!!

And One more day at Goblin Valley!

What an amazing place we live in!
I'm so glad that we get to go and explore it!
I love the time spent with my little family, away from the everyday norm.
Time for us to be together, enjoy each other, and see wonderful things.
