Spring is coming

Well, I think Spring is on it's way. Saturday, we spent some time outside. It was such a warm, fun, day. The girls rode their bikes. I got caught up on the Laundry. Chris scrubbed our master bathroom from top to bottom. The shower, the walls, the floors, etc.. He even took down the light fixtures and washed them. I mean, a total Spring cleaning! I think bathrooms are the worst, so I'm so glad he jumps in there and helps me when I am sort of on strike :)

We also did a little re-aranging. Elle graduated from a toddler bed, to my grandma's double bed. And Now we have a whole room downstairs dedicated to the girls toys. I'm really excited about this change. Bree was a little bummed, that Elle's new bed is bigger than hers. But I know she'll be fine. We had to take the rocking chair out of Elle's room though. She's a big girl now. Daddy won't be rocking her to sleep each night anymore. I think he's going to miss it! He loves that time with Elle.

Look at these two little cuties! I mean, seriously!! :)

St. Patties Day and a new movie

For St. Patricks Day this year, I decided to make some GREEN chocolate chip cookies. It's kind of funny, because they tasted the same, but they just looked kind of sickly. ha..ha.. Kind of like something the grinch would eat I guess. And we had no problem eating them either.

Today Bree brought home this hilarious mask, she had made at school. I just love it when she gets home, and empties out her backpack, and I get to see all of the fun treasures, and surprises that are in there. They do the cutest things at school. So, here is our little Leprechaun :)

A new Lalaloopsy movie just came out. We've been waiting for it. It's the very first one. I pre-ordered it, and we've been watching for it to come. Elle had a Loopsy cake for her Birthday, and got a doll too. And ever since then, she's been lalaloopsy crazy! She was very excited when her movie came today! In fact, the girls are already watching it for the 2nd time!!

A Funeral

Didn't we just do something like this? Back in Sept. my grandma passed away. I thought that was tough! And Saturday, Chris' sister Lisa passed away. It's been a hard week. Yesterday was the funeral. It was awesome, as far as funerals go. But, I vote, that we take a break for a while.

When Chris found out that his sister had passed, he immediately had some thoughts come to him. We made bread and took it to his brother in law, and Chris volunteered to speak at the funeral. When he went in to deliver the bread, Myron and the kids were just sitting down to talk about the funeral. And when Chris told them he would speak, they were overjoyed, because the said that they had thought of Chris and his sister Julie to speak. It really was meant to be. Later that night, Chris came home and started writing. He wrote the most amazing poem I've ever heard. See, Chris' mom has a few books of poetry that are published. But Chris assures me, that this will not happen again :) He won't be writing any more poems anytime soon.

Yesterday was a good day. I'm kind of glad it's all over. What a stressful time. But I'm so proud of my husband. He really is quite funny. Making everyone laugh over and over with his stories and his talk. Everyone was mesmerized! So many people came and told him how wonderful it was at the dinner afterward.

I took this picture of Lois and her 10 children, on a family Campout 2 summers ago. It was my idea. We really only had everyone there for a few hours on one day. People were coming and going on that trip. Chris' family aren't really into pictures, but even though a couple of them didn't really want to be in it, they did it for me anyway. I just felt like it was important. And I had a hard time keeping my composure while taking it. I knew someday it would be a treasure, and that day has come all too quickly. I'm just glad, they all love me enough, to do this for me!

P.S. Lisa is the one standing right in front of Chris. We are really going to miss her a ton!! Until we meet again :)

GetAir Sportsplex

Saturday was our Cousin Kayla's 10th Birthday Party. We all met at a new place called GetAir Sportsplex in Kaysville. I thought the girls would have fun, but they enjoyed it even more than I thought. There were tears when it was time to leave. They could have jumped all day. The entire place was covered in trampolines, and foam pits.
Bree in one of the foam pits! What a good time :)

Elle loved climbing up the walls of trampolines, and sliding back down again. She jumped and jumped all over the place. I only got her to hold still for a couple of pics with cousins, and the rest of the time, I was on my own, trying to get some shots of her. I did catch some glimpses of her and cousin Natalie (only 3 months apart), holding hands and running from place to place. Too cute!

Kayla had both sides of her family there. A huge group. Here are a few little cousins.
Kayla's best friend Marissa, Elle, Aleigha, Kayla, Bree, and Libby.

Elle, Abby, and Bree!
And that group in the background is us too.

Elle enjoyed every minute of nonstop action! We're definitely going to have to take her back!

Me and my brothers.
Cord, Brighton, and Dax.
A little Birthday Treat! You are so creative Adelle :)

And a few Birthday Presents too :)

Arts Night 2012

Last night was Arts Night at Bree's school. They do it every year. Each class performs a couple of songs, and then we head to Bree's class room to see the Art she has made hanging in the halls, and visit with her friends and teacher in her class room.

Bree and Elle are ready to go!
Here is Bree filing on to the Stage with the First Grade. We had a front row seat, but I think the biggest kid in first grade stood right in front of Bree. So I actually had to run over to the side to video tape the performance.
This is before they got started. See the huge kid on the right in the red shirt....he is going to stand right in front of Bree. It was hilarious. But the songs were so cute. They did a great job!
All done, and filing off the stage :)
Here is Bree, standing by some of her Art work. Look at those amazing Apples :)
And now her Statue of Liberty :)
This is Bree's first grade teacher, Mrs. Vellinga! She is awesome.
And then as we were leaving, we found a little story Bree had written hanging in the hall as well. I can't believe how well she can read and write in just the first grade!!
And then here we are coming down our street on the way home. As soon as we turned down the street, both Chris and I looked up and said....whoa! At the exact same time. The sunset and Great Salt Lake looked beautiful. So beautiful, that we were stopped in our tracks! I had to take a couple of pictures.

Amazing!!

Of course, it was even more amazing in person. And we had such a great night at Bree's Arts night.

What we've been up to.....

What we've been up to.....

Wheat, Flour, and Food Storage
RV Show
Heart Shaped Pancakes
Chuck E Cheese
Tooth Fairy
and Church Lessons

The other day I finally made it to one of the great places on my list. Kitchen Kneads. I filled my 7 gallon bucket of White Wheat, and bought a new 5 gallon bucket of all Purpose Flour. Bought a meat mallet, some mini loaf pans, and 2 heart shaped Pancake Rings. Whew! I could spend a lot more in that store, but chose to quit at that.

I also went to the grocery store, and bought a few things to stalk our shelves. I love feeling like with what is on the shelves, we can eat cheaply for a while.

Thursday night, Chris and I went to the RV Show. Chris' mom watched the girls, and it was our little Valentines night out. We quite possibly walked through almost every trailer there was. And that was a lot! By the end, I would say I had gotten my exercise. Up and down, in and out, of all of those trailers. I ended up with more than 10,000 steps on my fitbit that night :) There were a couple of favorites, but one that was awesome! The Raptor 30FS. It just happens to be a Toy Hauler. And those are NOT my favorite. But this trailer ROCKS!! Now if I only had 40 grand. Then we'd be in business :) ha..ha.. And after the RV Show, we ate at Mimi's Cafe. We haven't been there for a long time, and they just have the best sourdough rolls, and salad ever! Yum :)

Friday morning, because Bree was home for a 4 day weekend, I decided to test out my new heart shaped Pancake rings. I made the girls, the cutest heart shaped pancakes ever!! You can do eggs the same. I love my new kitchen gadget!

Today we took the girls to Chuck E Cheese. We usually never go on a Saturday. And let me tell you, it was pretty crowded. But so much fun!! The girls just love it. And I found out that you can buy any of the prizes at the prize counter, you don't have to have any tickets. So this time, I told the girls they could have any toy they wanted. We used our tickets, and then I paid the rest. The girls each got 1 amazing thing!

This morning Bree came in our room about 7am, and said that her 3rd tooth had fallen out. It had been really loose the day before. She was scared to go to bed, for fear of swallowing it. Daddy told her, that if it fell out, she would wake up, like when you wake up to go to the bathroom, and she did. She said that she felt something on her tongue and woke up and pulled the tooth out of her mouth. Amazing!! So tonight, we will have a visit from the tooth fairy!

And finally, tomorrow is Sunday. The girls love church, and Elle is finally staying in her own class. Both Chris and I have to teach tomorrow. Chris the Elders, and me my Sunday School Class. Should be a nice relaxing day :)

So THAT, is what we've been up to.....

Bikes and Valentine Cupcakes

This has been such an interesting Winter. In January, there was no snow, and we were playing at the park. And then it snowed a few times, and last weekend, we spent our weekend in the Mountains Snowmobiling. And now, we're back home, and it's warm again, and yesterday, the girls were out riding their bikes. I guess you could say, we've had the best of both worlds :)

At any rate, we're enjoying ourselves, and that's what life is all about!

I love Saturday! Well, lets just say, I Love the weekends! Because Chris doesn't work, and Bree doesn't have school, and we get to spend all of our time together! This morning, the girls and I made Valentines Cupcakes. I frosted them, and the girls decorated them. We had a lot of fun. I love that there is a whole Holiday dedicated to LOVE :)

Happy Valentines Day everyone!!
