PG Strawberry Days 2010

This weekend is Strawberry Days down in Pleasant Grove. We've gone for the past 3 or 4 years. Well, ever since I've been married to Chris, and we lived in Lehi. His brother and nephews usually play in the Saturday morning Tennis Tournament. There's a parade on Saturday morning as well, and then the carnival runs from Thursday through Saturday. Of course, you have to get a cup of Strawberries and Cream when you go. That is a highlight for sure.

I didn't think we'd make it down this year. We just moved up to Layton, and money is tight. But we needed a fun summer break, and when we go down, we get to see Chris' mom. Lois came with us, and we watched the girls have so much fun. Bree LOVES the rides. And Elle is usually scared stiff, but she insisted on riding the train, and then the rest was history! Elle rode a lot of things, and had the biggest smile on her face. The food isn't bad either. The burgers and fries were huge. Bree's Corn dog was amazing, and our drinks came in reusable cups that were so cute! I love carnival food :)

Oh, and another Coaster. This one is Bree's favorite! When she got off, she told me that she just couldn't stop smiling.
Elle rode some of the slower rides with Bree. Which is amazing, because she usually won't ride anything. Last year, we put her on the train with Bree, and the minute it started to go, she was trying to get off. We were worried that she would fall out. We didn't really want to try this year, but Elle insisted, and totally proved us wrong. She loved it. So she rode the slower, non terrifying rides with Bree :)
Bree and Lois rode the Ferris Wheel together! Bree was a bit scared at first, but got the hang of it right away. While riding, Chris and Elle got off their bench they were watching from, to go to the play ground. I was to wait for Bree and grandma to finish the ride. Good thing they left, because after they left, a girl on the Ferris Wheel threw up, and it spewed out of the Ferris Wheel and onto the bench that Chris had left, and that two new people were sitting on. Needless to say, it didn't have a happy end for the new people sitting on that bench. I'm so glad Elle talked Chris into leaving and going to the playground!! It could have been nasty!
Elle even wanted to go on the super huge slide with Bree and Daddy. She did so awesome!! She even rode it twice :)

So these were the highlights of our day yesterday. It was fun to see the girls having so much fun, and smiling, and just being little girls :) I just love summer, and all of the activities that come with it.
